THe international baccalaureate programme at Deland high school
DeLand High School’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme has been serving the students of DHS and West Volusia 1989. We are proud to offer a world class education in a public school setting.
The teachers and faculty in the IB programme strive to create a learning community that challenges students to higher levels of thinking and performance. We offer an interdisciplinary focus that allows students to see connections and develop a shared mission, goal and respect within a collaborative setting. Students who complete the IB Diploma Programme are prepared for the rigors of college life, are internationally minded, and possess the 21st century skills and values necessary for entry into our ever-changing world.

In 2014 DeLand High School was honored to welcome President Ellen Johnson of Liberia to our campus. President Johnson participated in a Q&A session with our students. Her visit was a tremendous honor. In 2016 we were thrilled to welcome President Johnson to DeLand again. She met with IB students who participated in the Model United Nations organization. Thank you to Jamell and Amina Sirleaf for sharing your grandmother with us.
